Summer is off to a great start and it's awesome to see so many impactful things happening around town! A few weeks ago there were four different projects happening on Main Street at the same time! If you haven't seen the video on our social media pages, I would encourage you to go check that out. Great things are happening in Odebolt!

A lot has been going on behind the scenes with The Odebolt Community Foundation, including working with engineers, securing contractors, applying for grants, meetings with the city, and more. In April the Odebolt Community Foundation submitted a purchase agreement to the city to purchase the Bridie building. Since that time we have been able to get the building completely gutted inside and we're now ready to start working on the new roof. The formal transition of ownership will happen as soon as the DNR Derelict Building funds are used up, which we anticipate happening by September. In addition to that, we are excited to announce future plans for the building at our farm dinner later this summer!

We have also submitted bids to purchase the buildings at 204 E. 1st Street and 203 S. Main for $1 each, and those bids were accepted at the last city council meeting. These properties, along with the Bridie building, present great economic development opportunities for Odebolt and we're committed to doing our part to make that possible.

The Odebolt Community Foundation will be offering Odebolt t-shirts and other merchandise for sale in front of the Bridie building on Main Street during Creek Days from 9 am - 1 pm. All proceeds from these sales will go toward the foundation and our efforts to save the Bridie building. I welcome you to stop by and see us!

The results from our town survey are in, and your feedback has been a great help to us as we prioritize needs and future projects for our town. You can find the survey results on our website at odeboltcommunityfoundation.org.

If you are interested in bringing a business to Odebolt, we'd love to talk to you about how we can help make that a reality, so please don't hesitate to reach out!

Stay tuned, we have a great summer ahead and will be announcing our farm dinner date very soon.

I look forward to seeing you at Creek Days!
